He is happily married to Lion Bhavna who is a CPA.
They are blessed with two children: Shivani (daughter) and Shivam (son) who are studying in a medical program in Richmond, Virginia.
They have collected more than 10,000 pairs of eyeglasses.
Dr. Shodhan is a very enthusiastic leader in the community. He is a trustee and active member on the Board of the Valley Hindu Temple (VHT).
He directs the Temple Fund-Raising Committee as Chairman for their $ 2.5 million Renovation Project. He also serves as a member of the
Senior Advisory Committee of VHT. He has organized and participated in several community health fairs. He has volunteered on the
Disaster Action Team (DAT) of American Red Cross. He is a member and past director of the San Fernando Valley Gujarati Association.
Dr. Shodhan is a Charter member of the Northridge Lions Club. He has held various positions including Club President, Chairperson for the
City of Hope, Valley Region Zone “A” Chairman, Member of LCIF Committee for 2009-2010, and Member of Lions Clubs Centennial
Celebration Committee. In the upcoming year, he will be on the Board of Directors of Northridge Lions Club.
He is actively connected with LOVE and MEND programs of the District. In January of this year, he and his wife Bhavna attended Leadership
Training at the Harris Ranch.
Dr. Shodhan has received numerous awards and certificates during his affiliation with Lions Club. He was awarded Club President’s Diamond
Pin for achieving positive net membership growth and a Commendation for President’s Retention Campaign. He was the highest donor in the
Club to Campaign Sight First II for the year 2006-07. During his presidency, he made Northridge Lions Club a model club for Campaign
SightFirst II and also started Northridge Leo Club. He received a Certificate of Appreciation Award from the International President Mahendra
Amarsuria. He has been awarded Wilt LeBlanc Fellowship Award in recognition of his support to the Lions Rose Parade Float. He and his wife
individually donated two tiles to the City of Hope for Lions Circle of Hope Tiles Wall. He is a Melvin Jones fellow.
Dr. Shodhan’s leadership style is to motivate people with acceptance, approval and appreciation. He believes that the greatest accomplishments
are achieved by teamwork of enthusiastic and proactive people pulling together for a common goal. His versatile personality and experience will
make a positive contribution to the district.
